Ok I have an i3 27" imac & HP office jet pro 8500a, the printer has been working fine since software drivers were installed about 6 weeks ago.

Basically the HP printer is one of those all in one type eg print, scan and fax
and it also has wireless (which is least of my problems) Anyway roughly afew weeks ago the scan function no longer works via the printer driver or via say image capture. Basically an error messeage comes up saying can not connect to scanner. As far as I know nothing has changed on the Mac or printer in the last 2 weeks, so I don't understand why I no longer have the ablity to scan via the HP office jet pro.

The HP office jet can still scan and save the scan via a usb key on the printer, but I want the function back to be able to scan via the mac.
The printer can also scan using an ipad and other PC's, so I don't think its a problem with the printer.

I've also notice upon start of the imac now along with my outlook opening, I also get microsoft RDC app opening stating it wants to connect to a server and the only way i can get rid of it is closing the RDC app down or force quiting the app. I am not sure if the RDC app has something to do with the scanner function not working via my mac???

The imac is running 10.6.8 and the firmware on the HP is uptodate.
Can anyone help me?
Should I possibly delete all HP drivers/Software and install again?
I've even tried setting up a new user profile, but still can't scan via the HP.

Any help would be greatful!
