Will a Mbp 15" with an i5 be much better than an i3 in the 13"?

Can both handle Photoshop, illustrator and word processing pretty much the same

My 2010 2.4ghz Dual Core can handle those, I'm sure the newer ones can do better.

Do you guys interpret the leak as the 13" will only come with i3 or do you think it'll be customizable to an i5?

Also, do you guys think the 13" will come with custom SSD and how much do you expect Apple to charge, say, for 128 GB of it?

They will both be able to handle those programs, but the I5 is the better processor, of course. You will see the biggest difference when you are multi-tasking and using multiple programs at once. One reason for that is that the I5 (and better) processors have a turbo boost feature for times you are really taxing your system. I3 doesn't have turbo boost.

I'm planning on getting an I5. If I can't get an I5 in my price range in a Mac, I guess I will be forced to re-think whether to make the switch to Mac. I will revisit the idea of an I3 again though...I'm not sure if it's a deal breaker issue for me or not.

I feel that the 13 inch Mbp will get two options. One core i3 as there's only one mobile i3 available (2310m) and the other option would be the slowest mobile i5.

cnet indicate there are 2

The new i3 processors include the i3-2120 (3.3GHz) and i3-2100 (3.1GHz). They are set at $138 and $117, respectively.

On the other hand wikipedia indicate 2310M is the only SB i3

I am confused :p

Uppon further research i3-2120 (3.3GHz) and i3-2100 (3.1GHz) are desktop processors :D There's still hope!

Assuming you're not comparing a last gen i5 with the rumoured next gen i3, nobody can say because nobody has actually tested them yet but the last gen i5 was appreciably better than the previous i3 so I don't see that changing. I'd go with the 15" i5 just to get all the extra stuff you get with the 15" MBP.
