Briefly,
i connect my iPhone 4 to my Mac [Macbook Air]
Image Capture reads it, but the problem is iTunes doesn't.
is there any fix or anyone else experiencing
this? This is the only problem i'm facing with my iPhone

What OSX version are you running? Have you updated iTunes to the latest version?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/8A306)

Same problem here. I tried to delete iTunes and re- install but bloody mac won't let me for reasons only known to itself.
I updated to 4.01 on another computer bit my iTunes problem remains.
If you search apples support pages it recommends reinstalling iTunes completely and also it's apple mobile device manager. The file name is on the support pages. Of course I cannot delete iTunes so this doesn't help me but it might help you
I am taking my mac and i4 to the genius bar tomorrow
Good luck

It's the mobile device thing.
Follow instruction on apple support for iTunes. It's very clear ( if you can delete iTunes)
