is anyone else experiencing a jittery/laggy i5 when its on the charger ???

Negative. My iPhone 5 runs faster on the charger. I think the CPU realizes it doesn't need to conserve power so it runs at full speed.

If you're talking about a lot of lag...like, the screen almost doesn't recognize touch input...try a different charger. Happened to a friend. We thought the phone was toast. But, we tried a different charger since it was only while plugged in. Turned out that was the problem.

Yesterday I noticed the signal was inconsistent. I was in the same place, and my signal would go from 1 bar to 5 bars on 4G, when I was in an LTE area. I couldn't send a text message or make a phone call. Once I unplugged the power it was fine. However I wasn't plugged in to your standard wall outlet, I was plugged in directly to the front USB port on my Alpine head unit.

Yes mine does. Scrolling becomes jittery and if I hold my thumb in one place the screen has a little fit. The keyboard is also massively unresponsive. Must say tho, this only happens when plugged into USB (due to the lack of adapters I have to take my cable to work etc, cheers for that apple) when I'm plugged into mains with the proper charger it works fine.

This is a sign of a counterfeit charger by the way.

thats what mine does- when I touch the screen it gets gittery and very unresponsive- it can't keep up with typing inputs- i think it might be the charging cable- its an official apple cable and its the one I keep at my work desk and thats really the only time I use my phone while plugged in for charging so Im not sure if my other three charging cables do the same thing to my phone- im thinking this new lightning cable was a huge mistake by apple- yes its nice that it is smaller and can work upside down or right side up but sometimes things get too complicated.....

Surely if its an iPhone 5 they'll be using the charger they got with it?
Not necessarily? I mean personally I have probably hundreds of the little Apple bricks floating around, but I know a lot of people enjoy "Genuine OEM" 2 dollar adapters from China. Which is nothing wrong with that. But it's bad for the phone; if the touchscreen is jittery and unresponsive while being charged ONLY, it is getting unclean power from the supply.

Where is your USB plugged into? Computer? Wall adapter? USB Hub?

Counterfeit chargers will cause this. Great article on them.

Thank you :)

It may be iCloud doing a backup. It normally stars when the phone is plugged in and connected to WiFi. I don't know why else it'd lag
