I'm just about to buy a 27" quad-core and wondering whether to spend the extra $200 and get the i7.

I'll be using my mac primarily for music production but also graphic and web design. Will I notice a performance increase?

I've read that the main difference is that i7 handles hyper-threading, whereas the i5 doesn't - how would this affect apps like Logic and Pro Tools?
