i7 6820HQ (2.7 Ghz) vs i7 6700HQ (2.6 Ghz) HELP!

I completed my 2016 MBP configuration but i cant decide on the CPU. I will order tomorrow. Please help me! I will use the device mostly for 2K video editing on FCPX (maybe 4K in the near future)

6820 has 8mb cache
6700 6mb cache

The most important difference between these two CPUs seems to be this on paper. I think clockspeed differences will not be noticeable. Well is the cache memory difference really noticeable when using FCPX?

Should I choose the model which is higher or should i save my money?

The GPU will be more important than the CPU here. Save your money, the CPU bump is almost never worth it with a dedicated GPU

Seconded. The 460 is gonna be more useful here than the slight CPU bump.

He's right. Save your money. It's not worth that minuscule upgrade that might be a hair faster in the most extreme of circumstances.

I posted this in another 2.6 vs 2.7 thread, but the info is the same.

I upgraded to the 2.7Ghz cpu because there are more differences between them than just clock speed and cache. In addition to the extra 2MB of cache, the 2.7Ghz and 2.9Ghz CPUs also have the TSX-NI instruction set, Intel vPro Technology, Intel Stable Image Platform Program (SIPP) and Trusted Execution Technology. If you run heavily multi-threaded applications, and they can make use of the TSX instructions, that might be worth it. If anything, the extra cache paired with the bump in clock speed would be nice either way.

No go higher. It'll make you feel better to get the 2.7GHz w 8GB cache.

I don't see any 2.7 option.
If you get 2.7 model you don't only get a faster cpu but also a 500gb SSD and a faster gpu.
