i7 fan noise

When it comes to fan noise, is the i5 and i7 the same? If not, is the i7 annoying? much louder?

Taking a guess that they'll sound the same as they both have a max TDP of 84w (for the non S model CPUs used in the 27" models)

I wouldn't imagine there being much more fan noise. My brother and I built and i7 4770k rig for him a few months back. It wasn't that loud at all with the stock intel fan. Then again we didn't push it to the max 100%.

I never hear the fan with an i7 in my 2011 iMac, even when maxing all eight cores.

My Dell laptop, on the other hand, cranks the fans with an i7 even when doing light work.
