Looks like my 16" model is going for around 2200-2400 used right now and I'm thinking of jumping to the new 14" 10 core model for around the same amount. I originally expected to use my 16" with bootcamp a lot but didn't end up utilizing it enough for that and will keep my windows ecosystem separate. The MBP is pretty much just for personal video/photo editing. Main draw for me is the screen and overall system performance. I notice some lag with this 16" which is pretty surprising. Still on the fence between the 16 and 14 though, but I think the newer 14" is the sweet spot. Anyone thinking of making a similar move before the intel prices drop off?

I have the intel i9 2.4 5600m and it’s a beast to game on and brought the new M1 max 16” but I’m disappointed in promotion especially using safari and it’s so much thicker I might stick with the intel one, I even find the speakers on the intel one sound cleaner and the brightness is the same on both

If you are into video / photo editing you should jump right now. Most Pro software is M1 native and only getting better. Prores encode/decode on the M1 Pro/Max is a game changer. Screen is gorgeous. I love promotion. No complaints here.
