I have been running iBank 3 on my Intel Mac using Lion for more than a year and have never had any problem. The other day when I tried to open the program I get an error message saying iBank cannot be opened because of "a problem." Apparently the problem has something to do with my use of Lion.
When I contacted IGG support they suggested I try to open iBank with an earlier version of OSX. I don't have an earlier version loaded. Support also suggested I upgrade to iBank 4. I have iBank 4 but was using iBank 3 because I liked it better (I can't remember why but it had something to do with 3 producing data that I could not get in 4). Anyway, when I open iBank 4 there is no data there.
I tried using TimeMachine but that didn't help. I also tried my internet backup file without success because it recorded the latest failures.
I'm getting zilch help from IGG support. They did suggest I copy the messages in my Console file, which I did. The only thing I see consistently in the Console is reference to "Bus 10 error."
Has anyone experienced similar problems and found a solution. This really infuriates me because I've been relying on this one program to record all my financial data.
