Hi, I'm trying to help out a friend with the purchase of a Ibook for school. Anyway, is 1250 us$ too much for...
Mac iBook G4, 800 Mhz, 256 MB ram, 30 GB, bought in november 03. 3 years all-risk(better then I.care)insurance with an Airport Extreme card, original box and all original cd's.
bare in mind that we live in Denmark(where EVERYTHING is expensive). usually stuff here is 80-100% more then in the U.S.

any help is appriciated.

The one you describe must be a 12" iBook. They never made a 14" 800MHz G4 iBook nor one with only 30GB hard drive.

The configurations (last rev - October 2003 to April 2004) were:
  • 800 MHz 12" iBook G4 /30GB HD
  • 933MHz 14" iBook G4 /40GB HD
  • 1GHz 14" iBook G4 /60GB HD

Make sure you see the model before buying.

In that case it was before the iBook G4 came out. At this time, the 14" iBook was only availble in a 900MHz G3 configuration. But I thought you said it was new in November 2003?

Seems a bit fishy to me. If I were you I'd buy a new iBook 12 or 14" 1GHz (or maybe 14" 1.2) and buy Airport Extreme card. It won't work out that much more and it will be new and faster.
