I'm interested in hooking up my iBook to my stereo speakers (I have four speakers plugged into the receiver).

Is this possible and if so, what would I need?

Thanks for any help/advice!

Re: iBook and stereo speakers

PieMac,

All you should need is a cable that goes from the 1/8" A/V jack on your iBook to stereo RCA for your receiver. Radio Shack should be able to hook you up. That will be analog audio.

If you want digital capabilities, you could look into a USB device that will transfer digital audio and potentially give you 5.1 surround sound from DVD movies. Check out M-Audio or Edirol for these options.
