The iPad hasn't arrived in the UK yet but I'm curious about how the iBooks app works in terms of sorting your books - can you customise the display? Sort by author, title, genre, year of publication, etc? I've played around with ePub books in iTunes, but the info fields are just taken from the standard music tags.

Can somebody perhaps post some iBook app screenshots showing different displays and ways of sorting?

Many thanks!

In ibooks You can hit "edit" and drag them around on the bookshelf. You can pick authors, titles, or categories list view and there is even a bookshelf list view that lists them in the same order they would be shown in the bookshelf view.

In kindle on the iPad you have the same options except there is no categories sort available. In the kindle software, the sort options apply to the "covers" view (similar to bookshelf view in iBooks) while in iBooks the only sort in bookshelf view is manually dragging books around.

Sorry, no pics, no time...
