I don't remember where I read this, it could have been here for all I know, but to keep the battery alive on an iBook is it better to keep discharging it or should you only do that like once a month/week/3months/2weeks etc. I know that batteries don't live forever and you should always have backups, but yeah is it better to discharge it so that you can keep it from going dead a while longer.
 
My understanding is that it's pretty much a moot point, since the battery starts to deteriorate after about 18 months no matter what.
