I have an ibook g4 800mhz, my battery has been pretty great so far, usually I only run down about 50% of the way, because I only use it off a charger for 2-3 hours at a time. Yet, suddenly, I noticed that it will get to around 47% left, after about 2-3 hours as expected and then suddenly go straight to 2-1%. I have no clue whats wrong, I am hoping you guys can tell me how to fix this

Run it off the battery until it sleeps and then charge it up to 100% in one go. This is called calibrating the battery. :)
Also, keep in mind that this should only be done about once per month (every 30 cycles).

Compatiblepoker, how old is your battery. Whilst a PMU reset and a calibration may help, if it's an old battery then there aren't really any steps you can take. I recommend trying a PMU reset and then a calibration (in that order for maximum effect). It won't do any harm but it certainly isn't guarantied to fix anything. :)
