I'm thinking about finally purchasing a 12'' iBook. This is the configuration I have made at the moment through the online Apple Store: 1GHz G4/60GB/512MB/AP Extreme/Combo. My question to current iBook owners is whether or not 512 MB memory will be sufficient in light of apps such as GarageBand and the upcoming Tiger applications. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

My wife has a 1GHz Powerbook with 512MB RAM and it works fine for everything she does, which is quite a bit (Final Cut Pro 4, etc...). If you notice down the line that it isn't enough, which I doubt, you can order extra from Crucial for cheaper than Apple will sell it to you anyways.

My vote's for 512.
