I just purchased a nice new iPod Video today at the Apple Store. However, I plan on continuing to use my mini for a bit also. So can I transfer songs from my mac onto my mini and my ipod video? Or is that not allowed. Also, can I put all my old songs on the new ipod also?

Thanks

you are only allowed a max of 5 ipods

You sure about that?

WikiPedia disagrees: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FairPlay

The protected track may be copied to any number of iPod portable music players

Also from http://www.apple.com/lu/support/itunes/authorization.html

The iTunes Music Store uses FairPlay, Apple's digital rights management system that's designed to be fair to the artist, to the record companies and to you. In a nutshell, your FairPlay agreement entitles you to play your music on up to five computers (and enjoy unlimited synching with iPods), allows unlimited burning for individual songs and lets you burn playlists up to 7 times each.

I understand how the limit on authorized computers works, but don't understand how they could practically limit the number of iPods. My wife already had one stolen, so we're currently on our 4th iPod.

iPods versus computers...

Anything purchased from the iTunes Music Store can be played on up to five computers and an unlimited number of iPods (with some minor restrictions like a single playlist can only be burnt to CD seven times before it needs to be changed).

Besides that...that's it.
