Hey dudes I have an old G3 iBook 500 and it was fine last week but I didnt use it for a week (it has 10.2.8 and 9.2) but now I went to use it and the battery was on its last dot and it was sleeping. I tried to charge it and the light never came on the charger and its not charging. Now its dead cuz the battery went flat.

What u guys think? its not the original charger its the newer square

What do you mean it's the newer square? Are you talking about the newer magnetic chargers that are retangular in shape (vs the old circular ones)? If so, those do not charge the older models since they don't have a port for it.

I meant the square as the square charger (the power unit with folding out clips to wrap wires up), the iBook originally came with a round one. It still fits, worked last week

Your battery is dead, same thing happened to my macbook. The only thing you can do is buy a new battery, which I don't think is worth it for a computer this old.

it was working fine until it stopped charging and batterys totally flat now, still cant boot. doesnt get the lines on the charger... need to find a test meter
