Can anyone tell me if the combodrive from my G4 iBook 933mhz machine will fit into my old G4 Titanium power book 500mhz which only has a dvd rom drive in it.
I have just bought a superdrive for the iBook and was hoping to use the combo instead of just tossing it out.
Ta,
Deano.

I don't think so, the powerbook drive is slot loading, the ibook is not

That is incorrect - the G4 iBook is a slot loading drive (the white G3's were tray-load). You will probably need to swap the ribbon cable from one drive to the other.

No it won't work. The Powerbooks have the 12mm? optical drives. The ibooks are the smaller size. Techound is correct that the G3 ibooks are tray-loading while all the G4s were equiped with slot-loading drives.

Don't toss that combo drive, it's worth a few bucks on ebay ;).
