Okay, I have been using my iBook at church to run power point...and soon hopefully Keynote 2...but I have just been using the mini jack to the rca to plug it in through the VCR. That compresses the image for some reason from top to bottom so I was wondering if there was an adapter that would enable me to hook it up to the VGA imput on the projector.

I believe you need a VGA Display Adapter to convert the mini-VGA port on your iBook to full VGA. You can get one from the Apple store.

Is that the one that they list on their store that says it is made for the G4 iBook? It seems like it is what I need, but it says G4 in the little blurb so I wasn't totally sure.

Not sure. everymac and others claim that it would work. If you have a physical Apple Store near by I'd suggest going and asking them...

Your iBook should have come with the VGA adapter. It plugs into the mini-VGA port and give you a full VGA port that can plug into any standard VGA monitor/projector.

I'm not sure if Apple ever sold them since they were included in the box.

Mine came from e-bay so no box, no adapter...I guess I could check e-bay and see what I come up with. If not I guess I have a reason to drive to the Apple store 45 min. away and look at the mini's!

I checked the Apple site after posting yesterday. I got distracted and forgot to check back.

Anyways, the Apple store does sell the adapter for $19. It's called the Apple VGA Display Adapter. I'd post a link, but I've had no luck with links to the Apple Store website. Just do a search for it.

Yep...

It's just called a VGA adapter and it worked perfectly with my 500mhz G3 iBook.
