iBook G3 and AirPort Extreme?

There are no G3 iBooks that will accept an Airport Extreme card. Sorry, you're stuck with 802.11b.
G3 iBooks only take the original 802.11b airport card. G4 iBooks take the newer 802.11G airport extreme card.
You should be able to find an original card for around $80 or so on eBay. It seems like alot of money for old tech but there aren't really any alternatives.
Hey Cassie, it's not terribly obvious, actually. It can get confusing because the term "Airport" can sometimes be used interchangably between the original and the Extreme. Here's two ebay sales, purely for the purpose of demonstrating the differences between them:
The first, the "original" Airport card, which is compatible with the G3 ibooks:

Basically, when you go on the hunt for the card, most places will refer to the "original" Airport card.

You can get a cheaper but seldom reliable USB wireless dongle, but I wouldn't recommend it. I've tried a couple and they were terrible.

Well, seeing as to how they are $20 on eBay, I guess I'll try them out anyway...
Just spend the extra to get the original Airport card. I am using it right now in my Pismo G3 very well!
