iBook G3 and iPhone compatibility

Will an iBook G3 work with an iPhone 3g?
Are the 2 USB ports in the iBook USB 2 or USB 1?

I've just bought an old iBook but can't get it to find my iPhone with iTunes - is anyone using an iPhone with an iBook and if so what spec. is the machine and what's the performance like?

Unfortunately you can't use the iPhone with the iBook because the iBook does not have a USB 2.0 port. The oldest iBook that you could use it with is an iBook G4.
