Just picked up this ibook G3 500MHz and installed mac os 9.2.2...im hooked up to external monitor 19" normally can run 1440-900....i would like to run in clamshell mode...however when i close lid and hit a key it shows os on external monitor for about 5 secs and then goes back to sleep...can rehit any key but same thing happens....how do i keep it from doing this?

yes but that changes it from wanting to recycle when lid is closed....

ps: would show pic if i could figure out how to get toolbar to work in classilla for mac os....will do after on my macbook

I think i can answer my own question,after search forums...

"IIRC, ibooks vent through the keyboard and hence why clamshell mode isnt really supported. You can force your ibook with insomniax (or something else) but if you run it that way as a desktop that is on 24-7, you will run into some heat issues. "
