yeah, i know it's a prehistoric ibook but i'm poor. Allo of a sudden, the screen is nothing but vertical lines of different color. Sometimes no image at all. What's happening here? And yes smartasses, you can save the "hey buy a new ibook" reply. I'm on a very fixed income!

Hey, it's Logic Board failure. Same happened on mine. They replaced it (even though iBook was over 3 years old) within a week. http://www.apple.com/support/ibook/faq/

In that case I don't know if you really need a laptop, but for the price of a logicboard you could get a g4 Emac or upgraded imac g3 off craigslist.

Thanks for the help. I called apple and they said that my model wasn't supported anymore bu any kind of replacement. I think what caused it was walking around with it while it was on. It was in the case in sleep mode mind you, but i think that may have done it. My dad had a G3 laptop that did the same thing and it happened when he was on vacation and moving it around a lot. Anyway, I found a cheap G4 (woohoo! upgrade) powerbook on ebay, so there ya go!
