Hello there!

I have a problem with an iBook G3 White 12".
I've got it from my old English teacher.
She said it gave the startup-chime but then the screen stays black.
I've already tried to leave it on for 15 minutes, to see if it will work after then but nothing happened.
It also appears, that on YouTube there is a video of the same iBook G3.
I noticed that the Apple logo on the back of the iBook on YouTube lit up.
Mine doesn't.
Is it maybe the connection from the Mainboard to the screen?
Also it makes a strange sqeeking noice when it boots.
It isn't the HDD (pulled it out, to see if I could get her data safe) nor is it the fan (starts after 5 minutes).

Is the someone who can help me?
I think it is this kind of model: http://www.designedinca.com/images/256/ibook12.jpg

Thanks!

try booting up with an external monitor attached.

EDIT: your link does not work correctly, it keeps serving up a different image.

try applying pressure on that chip when you start it up. that's more then likely why the screen/mini-vga out is not working. it's a common problem with the ibooks :(
