I recently upgraded my iBook G4's RAM, and I accidentally ordered the wrong RAM the first time. I ordered a 512MB stick of PC2100 RAM, and want to know if this RAM would work in my friend's iBook G3. I really don't want to go through the annoying process of returning it to the company, which actually has horrible customer service, and want to find a use for it other than selling it on eBay.

No. The iBook G3 uses PC 66/100/133. PC2100 is faster than what your system uses, so why would it work in an older system?

Thanks. PC2100 is faster than PC2700? I was under the impression that the higher the number, the faster the RAM, and that the PC2100 didn't work because it was too slow. Oh well, shows how much I know about memory. :p

At any rate the pc 2100 won't work in the G3. Have you even tried to use the 2100 in yours? I got a stick from a friend a while back and it seemed to work ok in my ibook, in fact although it said 2100 on the stick it showed 2700 in my ibook.....Good luck.
