HI,

i have an old G3 ibook running OS 10.2.8. Can it be upgraded to Tiger?
here are some more details on it:

Memory: 384MB
Processor: 800MHz Power PC G3

its an ibook version 2.2
it writes CD's and plays DVD's

If it can be updated to a newer OS, where can i get a (genuine) one from? as everywhere is only selling leopard now?

thanks!

Yes it'll run Panther or Tiger, although more RAM would help. It shouldn't be any slower than 10.2.8 though.

You should still be able to find plenty of copies of Tiger on eBay.

I'm running Tiger on my G3 800. It's got 640mb RAM, though. The processor makes most of the difference, I think. I've run 10.4 on a 1.5ghz G5 w/512mb, and that seemed smoother, though the memory was less.
