Hello,
In order to make my iBook G3 "Snow" time-proof, I bought another "broken" 12-inch G3 to use as a parts donor. However, I would like to, at least, try to make it work.
When you turn it on, you hear the chime, and you also hear the HDD spinning. However, the screen remains black. There's absolutely nothing on the screen, so I doubt it's a backlight problem.
There are two posssibilities here: The screen might be broken, or this could be suffering from the infamous motherboard death.
In order to know if it's the motherboard, I opened the bottom and applied pressure with my hand at the bottom of the GPU while it was turned on. But still no video!
Do you know how I could know if it's in fact a motherboard problem? I have no external screen to attach this to. And, if it's the motherboard, would you try to put it in the oven? It's dead after all.
