Hi, I have an ibook G3. About a month ago, my ibook would not start up. After I push the power button, nothing. No noise, no click, no screen, nothing.
I put it with the rest of my "dead" collection. Then a few weeks ago, I decided to try again. It started up and ran great for about 2 weeks. Now it is doing the same thing. The battery is dead, but I started it up before with just the power cable. It will not start with a new battery nor the power cable now. Could it be the internal battery? Could it be the power supply? Any suggestions would be great. I really need a database off of it, that I did not back-up. Please help.
Ok, another forum told me to take out the bad rechargable battery then to plug it in to the power cable with no battery in place. It worked! But what would have caused this in the first place, if a good battery wouldn't start it up? Is is dying a slow death? Should I never unplug it again?
