Hello,
My iBook G4 is 3 years old. I have 2 problems:
My latest problem is that it won't charge the battery. I bought a new Ac Adaptor, and I used my battery and my adaptor in another G4 and it charges, but not in my computer. So I know the problem is INSIDE my computer. My father replaced the.DC-inboard when the pin off of my old charger broke off inside the computer.
2.) Now the computer won't turn on. If it does turn on it shuts off 20 seconds later.
There is no warranty, I don't know where to start with fixing it since I can't get it to stay on.
Please Help!!

Have you tried a new battery?

My mom had a first generation MacBook with this same exact problem.

She got a new battery, under warranty, and the problem was solved.

However, the battery in the MacBook was a widespread problem and had been recalled if there were signs of defects.

ibook charging problem

I tried using another battery from another ibook G4, it won't charge any battery that goes in my computer. Both batteries work in a different ibook that didn't have a DC inboard problem.
I know it's not my battery, but something inside the computer. But What?
