Hi folks, I just got a new 16:9 monitor and I'd like to hook up my iBook G4 to it. Is this possible? All it seems to want to do is put out a standard 4:3 feed.

Can I get this thing to spit out a widescreen feed?

I'm running a VGA cable from the iBook using the converter that came with it. Any help would be appreciated.

Best,

- Mike Paris.

The iBook line can only mirror displays, not span...meaning they can only output a resolution identical to the internal screen: 1024x768.

However, you can download the "screen spanning doctor", which is essentially a small hack which allows the video card to span/produce just about any resolution you would like.

I use the hack and it works great, as do many others.
