Hi,

My iBook G4 does not seem to charge anymore. When the charger is plugged in the light changes to amber the charging colour but no charge enters the laptop. Another thing is when the laptop is switched on and the charger is plugged in the laptop buzzes that is something it never did. Please advise not got much charge left.

Thanks.

Sounds like you've got either a bad battery or bad charging circuitry, which is unfortunate. If it's a bad battery, you can just buy a new one (I've seen the same behavior, sans the buzzing). If the charging stuff in the computer is bad, though, it's not likely you'll be able to repair it for a reasonable cost.

Does it still buzz if you have it plugged in and turned on with the battery removed?

By the way, the standard advice for battery weirdness is to discharge the battery completely and see if it will then charge, which probably won't help you, and to reset the PMU:

...which can't hurt to try.
