Hey Guys,
Just wanted to know if I got a good deal on this ibook I got off of craigslist.
It is an 12' iBook G4 30Gb hard drive running OS X Tiger, has 1.2GHz proccesor
512mb of ram, airport card and a combo drive. I paid $200 for it.
Did I get a good deal? Thanks ahead of time!

It's ok for the money but consider that even the current safari loading MR is going to crawl on it and with 30GB you can barely put some music to listen to.

I happen to write this from a 1.33 iBookG4- i know what i'm talking about...

But for $200.. it's a $200 piece of glorious computing history:apple:.

Sounds like you need more RAM. I maxed out my RAM and mine is pretty fast, especially considering it's a PPC, not Intel.

Also, the hard drive isn't that hard to replace. I replaced mine with the largest that would fit as soon as my warranty ran out. ;)

Sounds like a great deal to me too, jhawk! Congrats.

counting 1.5GB of ram
upgrated HD twice (40 to 60 to 120) can take the thing apart with eyes closed.
that's how it keeps going for me...
BTW those machines had so much more soul, i think...
so lovable
nice to see PPCers around guys, i think i was alone...:)

Thanks for all the repleys! I am really glad I got it now! To get it though, I sold my ibook g3 that I got for $75 for $175. Thanks for all the answers!
