I just inherited a G4 so I am trying it out. I put a DVD in, but it is not working.
Any ideas to see if there is something wrong with the player? If so, would it be better to replace with a an internal or external drive? I just recently purchased Leopard OS and upgraded the memory, but I can't upgrade if the player doesn't work.:):)

What motel iBook G4 do you have? What are the specs?
You might not be able to watch the DVD because the iBook might not have a DVD drive, only a CD drive.

Might be the ticket

I do not own a G4 ibook currently, but ran into the same issue when I went from 10.4.11 to 1.5 with my G5 with the stock DvD Drive:

I had to sift through a few graphics updates and DvD updates to get things working right. Also, you might try installing VLC:

It has really done wonders for all my PPC machines.

Hope it helps!
