iBook G4 Hard Drive Broken?

Hello all
So the other day I went and bought myself a iBook G4 from a yard sale,I know I know never buy from a private user because you'll get jipped. But it was 25.00 so I figured what the heck,after I got home and charged it up for a bit I turned it on,It took about a 1-2 min to load the apple logo,then it loaded the "loading wheel",and this went on for about 5 minutes,before the screen went black and the laptop made the "chime" noise it makes when it's starting up again,so does anyone know if this maybe a hardware issue? Maybe the hard drive is blown?

You may just need to reinstall Mac OS X. Do you have a Tiger or Leopard installation disc for it?

I have the disc,but when I press c It loads as if there is no disc in the drive

Press Option instead of C. C at boot isn't always reliable and Option provides more feedback.

I tried that and it's still doing the same thing :\

If you start the machine up by pressing and holding Command-V to enter verbose mode, what lines does it repeat, get stuck on, or reboot at?

Nothing it just keeps going to the loading screen then reseting

Which CD are you trying to get it to boot from?

A fresh copy of I believe it's called Mac Os X Panther

Only the original iBook G4 can boot from straight 10.3. Later models required 10.3.3, 10.3.7, or 10.4.2 restore disks depending on model.
