Hello all
So the other day I went and bought myself a iBook G4 from a yard sale,I know I know never buy from a private user because you'll get jipped. But it was 25.00 so I figured what the heck, after I got home and charged it up for a bit I turned it on,It took about a 1-2 min to load the apple logo, then it loaded the "loading wheel",and this went on for about 5 minutes, before the screen went black and the laptop made the "chime" noise it makes when it's starting up again,so does anyone know if this maybe a hardware issue? Maybe the hard drive is blown?

You may just need to reinstall Mac OS X. Do you have a Tiger or Leopard installation disc for it?

I have the disc, but when I press c It loads as if there is no disc in the drive

Press Option instead of C. C at boot isn't always reliable and Option provides more feedback.

If you start the machine up by pressing and holding Command-V to enter verbose mode, what lines does it repeat, get stuck on, or reboot at?
