I have an Ibook G4 1ghz 13".
It has a very poxy 30gb hard drive. I wish to up grade but have a fue questions.

1. Is there a spacific type of hard drive that I need to buy (eg mac spacific) or just a standard IDE laptop hard drive?

2. Am i limeted by trhe size of drive?

3.If it is a spacific type where do i buy them from?

I have dismantled my ibook before so no problems replacing it, just trying to save some money doing it myself.

I'm pretty sure that any IDE 2.5 will work. there were 128 GB limits on some of the earlier G4's, and the eMacs took slimmer drives, but I don't think your system requires anything out of the ordinary, at least, the drives on my G3 iBooks are "normal". You could likely go up to 250 or 320 GB if you want.

I like Seagate and Western Digital drives.
