Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any experience with iBook G4 Keyboard compatibility. I need to replace the keyboard in an old 933GHz 14" iBook G4 - do the keyboards vary for the different models or will any replacement 14" iBook G4 keyboard from ebay work ?

Thanks for any help ...

I'm not sure abut the physical connection, but I would imagine they are the same. I know the physical plastic keys themselves are, as my iBook G4 has a mix of both translucent and opaque keys. What you might want to do is check out ifixit's keyboards for different iBook models, then see if they vary or not.
Edit- that is one FAST G4...

Thanks guys, Ifixit shows the same part number for each model / refresh of 14" iBook G4 keyboard replacement ...

Can easily get burnt

Dave,

Any luck determining your apple part #, "compatible number" that Ebay ads post?

9xx-6xxx?

Where exactly is this number on my Ibook?

And is this really all there is to it?

Many e-bay listings show multiple compatible part numbers under "G4, 14" keyboard". You would think this is enough to be on the right track, but it's not.

I was just sent a transluscent keyboard, that although works on my G4 14" (connection, signals), it does not FIT on my G4 14". The ribbon cable is off.

The ebay listing showed three compatible apple part #'s 922-6637, 922-6189 and 922-6913.

Yet, I have no way to determine this part number for my Ibook.

The only clue to a model number is the A1055 on the botton of my book on the FCC label.

Yet nowhere am I able to find the compatible keyboard based on THIS clear model number.

-Frustrated too

Since some speeds overlap, you can determine your model of iBook by entering your iBook's serial number here:
