Hi everyone,

I have a big problem. My iBook G4 wont startup. I started in verbose mode and I get the following message. disk0s3: I/O error and then it tells me Couldn't find root user. Sleeping and trying again.
A boot in Safe Mode didnt work.
I booted from the System DVD and ran disk utility and it told me that the disk seems ok. I repaired both the disk and the permissions.

The problem occurred after I installed iTunes, Safari and a Security Update and the computer froze when trying to restart.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank You.

Sounds like your mount point might be screwed up. I'm not sure that a disk repair would fix this. The easiest thing is to just backup your data, and start fresh.

Cheers
Cameron
