iBook G4 ram in an iBook G3 ????

my girlfriend just maxed out her iBook G4 to 640mb, orphaning the old 128mb PC2100 so-dimm. will this chip work in an iBook G3? another friend of mine has a G3 iBook with only 128mb and we would like to give her this extra 128mb if it will work in her iBook.

i know the G4's ram is 'faster' but would it work at the lower PC100 speed in the G3 iBook, or would it not even work at all?

Nope, wrong RAM. I have had both the G3 and G4 iBooks. They are not the same stuff.

The iBook G4 uses PC2100 DDR RAM, while the iBook G3 uses PC100 RAM. Sorry.
