I searched and found this:https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/112756/ , but my problem is that based on pressure on the battery, it'll show it as being read by the iBook, but then other times if there's no pressure it shows the X in the battery. But there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the pressure. I put pressure on a certain point at one time and it reads it, but then if I do it again, it doesn't read it.
It seems to hold the same charge it had before (96%) and it's not jumping on the percentage of charge. So would a PRAM reset help? Any ideas on what I should do?

2. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
3. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.
