iBook G4 won't read blank DVD

why won't my iBook G4 (mac os x 10.5.8) read my blank DVD's? The dvds that i tried with are blue.. may that have something to do with it..?

Does it have a DVD burner or a Superdrive in it?

Looks like it won't read a blank DVD because it doesn't burn 'em.

Your iBook doesn't have the ability to burn DVDs. Thus, it won't read blank DVDs.

yea, i kind of just read that. Thats pretty weak, at least it plays DVDs

At the time DVD burners were slow and expensive. Only the top of the line iBooks had them. Even then I think it was only as a BTO inclusion.

DVD burners or Apple superdrives only came stock on the last revision 1.42ghz 14" iBook. BTO on last revision before that I believe and on the 1.33 12" iBook

you guys that said that the at the time DVD-R was rare/top of the line. Thinking back on 2004 I should of suspected so sooner. Its so obvious now, I remember 2004. Hell yea, thanks for your help you guys!
