Hey I'm going to be selling my iBook G4 when I get my new iMac.
I was wondering what you think my iBook is worth.
It is a late 2004 iBook G4. 1.2 GHz. Tiger. 80GB Hard drive, 512 RAM, 12 inch. Plus original box, and CDs.

Its still in great shape and I would probaly throw in the incase carrying case.
Any ideas?

I was told $500-700 by Apple.

and. to save me 50 bucks, is there a software that i can use to delete all my information on my iBook, before I sell?

Thanks,

Jake

$650-$700 on eBay, without the case (which, unfortunately won't add much).

Boot from your OS install disc. It will have the option to use the disk utility, which can securely erase discs by writing over all of the data on them with your choice of junk, 1's and 0's, etc. It will take while on an 80gb drive, but there won't be anything left to steal. ;)

While that's what it may be, everybody has not realized that. Or maybe they see it in a different perspective than you and I. I thought by now an old powerbook 12 inch would be cheap on ebay, man was I wrong: they still go for around 1000 $. Macs just don't lose their value like PCs do.
