Hello,

Recently my iBook's graphics have been acting up. Usually within the first three minutes I turn it on the graphics will completely mess up and a strange random design with appear on the screen flashing different designs and so forth.

Nothing remarkable has happened to it... it hasn't been dropped or anything. Just started doing it out of the blue...

any diagnosis?

This was a recuring problem with the iBooks which hit probably about 70% of them. The graphics chip was poorly soldered and over time with the heating/cooling cycles, the solder would "break" causing all kind of wierd problems with the display. More then likely you will loose your screen which will turn black and also your video-out port will fail to work too.

For a quick/temporary fix, apply pressure underneath on the bottom on the left hand side(opposite of the battery). This typically works. Check out this site for more info ~~~> http://www.instructables.com/id/Fixing-the-infamous-iBook-screen-problem/.

Good luck :)
