With the great possibility of Stanza no longer working with the iOS 6 operating system, I have started trying to find a replacement for it. Needless to say, none have all the features that Stanza has yet there were things that I wish had been added to Stanza.
Soooooo, I thought to start this topic to see what people like/don't like about iBook and what they would like to see added to the program.
For me:
1. The ability to sort ebooks in the order they are added (which it currently does) but with the option to sort in ascending or descending order. I'm sure others would like to be able to sort by Author or in some other manner as well. I just prefer to read the books in the order I load them into the program.
2. The ability to dim the screen when using the white background.
3. The ability to mark a book as READ. Currently, you get a NEW banner on the corner of a book when you add it but I would like something similar that could be added... say... when you reach the end of the book, the option pops up to "Mark book as read" and a similar banner would appear on the book like "New" when you freshly add a book to the library. Also would be nice if you could mark the book as "New" again, if you accidentally clicked on it before you were ready to read it. If there was no banner, then it would mean you were currently reading the book.
4. The ability to have the book's blurb/info/description and cover accessible either by clicking the upper portion of the screen or by an "Info" icon at the top of the screen where you can change some of the settings and access the library.
5. I would like narrower margins around each page which would allow for more text to be shown on each page.
6. I would like the ability to change which side to touch to page forward or back. I hold my phone in my left hand to read most of the time and having the ability to touch the left side of the screen to page forward would come in handy.
I'm sure I'll think of more things I would like added but those are the main ones for me right now.
Things I do like:
1. It seems to be a nice, basic program and it's easy to load books onto it from my Cloud.
2. I like the ability to leave the menu data showing along with the clock and the battery icon as well as the number of pages read / left to be read.
3. It's easy to change between day and night reading. (white or black background)
It would be great if the people working on iBooks would be reading the topic and take suggestions we make here seriously. Please.
