iBook LCD refresh w/external display attatched.

Hi all, I have a new ibook- 12 inch, 1.2G. Sometimes when I have an external monitor plugged in, and wake the machine up (open the lid) both screens display output, but the LCD on the iBook doesn't refresh. Forexample, it says it's 9:30 on the ibook screen right now, its 11:30. This only happens sometimes, anyone seen this? Thanks!

I forgot to mention this if it helps anyone:
I noticed that the mouse moves, but that's the only thing that updates on the LCD - I can move it over the dock, but no magnification occurs - ofcourse it works fine on the external display. Before anyone asks why this bothers me, because I use a KVM, and sometimes I don't switch over Thanks again.
