iBook Max ram?

I have a 1.33 Ghz ibook with 768 MB DDR SDRAM and i was wondering if i get 1 gig of ram which will i have to take out the 256 or the 512 ?????

Ive read that the max for ibook is 1.25 but some here have 1.5gb ibooks in their toys sig ?!?

So what the dealeo?

The stock 512 MB stick is soldered on to the logic board, so you can go to 1.5 GB RAM if you buy a 1 GB stick and pop it in.

Well, the very last revision of the iBook (1.33GHz 12" and 1.42GHz 14" both with the Radeon 9550) changed from having a 256MB card + 256 soldered to the logic bard to having 512MB soldered to the logic board and shipping with a free slot.

So, the last revision iBook, if that's what yours is, has a maximum RAM limit of 1.5GB. If you have 768MB then you would have to remove the 265MB card which is installed in the RAM slot.

Mine is a 14" 1.33ghz so i think the limit is 1.25
