iBook not connecting wirelessly

Hi all, I have a really old iBook, from around 2002. Today I formatted the hard disk, and re-installed os-x, however when i try typing in my password to connect to my bt home hub, it just says the password is incorrect, despite the fact it isn't. does anyone know what could possibly be going wrong here, and how i could try and fix it? any help would be great. many thanks.
