Why does the optical drive keep rejecting restore disks or any dvd's? Your answer will be much appreciated.

Can you give us some details about your computer and the drive in it?
Does it read CDs(whether data or audio) alright?
The lenses do get dirty, and most older optical drives can benefit from a cleaning at a minimum. There are cleaning disks available-all the ones I've seen have a fine, soft brush attached to an audio CD-the audio tracks give instructions about advancing the CD to bring the brush in alignment with the lens.
