Ibook, panic we are hanging

Ibook with a very confusing Linux Mandrake 9.1.

I want to install OS X.



Booting off of 10.3 CD holding the C key gives a:

Unable to find distribution, Panic: We are hanging.


Error message superimposed over the grey apple background.


Please help. This OSX 10.3 cd image was burned as a backup on windows.

If you burn a mac install CD do you have to make sure it is Joliet, or UDF?

You had a kernel panic.

You need a copy of the OS X that is copied via Disk Utility. Or... a legal version.
