Can an ibook boot off of a usb dvd drive?

Is it worth putting a 7200rpm 8mb cache harddrive in over a 5400rpm 8mb cache?

Is it possible to get Wifi g or n on this laptop?

Will Mac os x 10.4.11 run decently on this ibook?

PPC Macs don't boot off usb.

putting a hard drive inside the polycarbonate PPC laptops is a horrendous undertaking. you had better be very sure about your skills

I wouldn't bother adding a new HD on an iBook. One thing you might want to do though is add some more memory if it will support it.

Nope, 640MB is the max.

It may run Panther (10.3) well, but you'd probably be better off with 10.2 even. Tiger wouldnt run well enough to even consider it. This is all before its connected to the internet too. Once online it'll be worse because the G3 PPC can't keep up with whats displayed on web pages anymore. Its like trying to drag race with a geo metro.
