hi everyone, was just wondering if anyone if anyone had any dealings with www.offtek.co.uk, as there iBook RAM seems to be the cheapest around

i'm looking to uprgrade the ram on my iBook which is now about a year and half old, and has started to slow down a bit too much since installing tiger, i was gonna just buy 256MB from crucial for £18.99(ex vat) but after looking through the forums 384MB total apparently doesnt show a comparable differrence i cant really afford to buy the 512MB from crucial as all together its about £85 which i dont have cuz im a poor student, but on the offtek website there selling 512MB for £44 which i could stretch to, but ive never heard of em b4 and was wondering if anyone else has?

Thanx in advance
Mungki !!

I had a look at these guys when I was researching a RAM purchase for an iBook recently and couldn't find anything bad on them. I've since spoken to one of our IT guys at work who says their customer service is excellent.

I ended up using eBuyer since they were very slightly cheaper but getting hold of customer service to organise redeliveries (it arrived too soon!) was a nightmare.

At that point the 1GB on Crucial was only £85 inc VAT which might be worth skipping a few nights out on the beer and getting instead.

Ah well... I'm sure you'll notice a huge difference with 640MB anyhow. And oftek should be fine...

If it is an iBook G4 with DDR RAM, it can go to 1.25 GB RAM

iBook G3s are limited to 640 Mb and use PC100 SDRAM.
